Here at EQ, we’re working towards making a Net Zero commitment. We now understand our emissions and total carbon footprint across Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions e.g. utilities) and Scope 3 (other indirect emissions e.g. suppliers).
By talking to our suppliers about our carbon footprint and the impact they have on it we can begin to work collaboratively to agree initiatives that help EQ to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
An EQ ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Group was formed this year made of subject matter experts in EQ to understand the material ESG issues for the Group and develop an appropriate strategy and plan to best manage them.
Our customers are starting to evaluate companies on how far advanced they are with sustainability and it won’t be long before they integrate this in their decision making when deciding which companies to work with.
Global carbon emissions decreased by around 7% in 2020/21 as a result of the pandemic, so as firms including EQ return to business as usual, it’s important to be mindful of our impact on the planet.
